Bowls USA governs the sport of bowls in the U.S. and is a member of World Bowls, the organization that establishes worldwide Laws of the Sport.

The Laws of the Sport of Bowls, Crystal Mark Fourth Edition

Laws 37.1.3 and 37.1.5.3 were rescinded by World Bowls after Bowls USA printed the Laws of Sports Bowls. Here is a link to the World Bowls Laws Committee discussion about why the two laws in question were rescinded.
